Today was the first time Jack did not sleep through a metro ride. He was bright-eyed and ready to take on the world! First was the walk to the metro – he loves being outside, looking at the trees, and taking it all in. The elevator ride was fun b/c of all the windows. Then came the train ride… As Jackson saw the tops of buildings and trees whizzing by, he got a little freaked out. The lower lip popped out, and he let out his scared noises for awhile. (I won’t attempt to describe them, b/c saying he sounds like a donkey isn't very… well.. you get the picture.) He was a man about it though, and just kept looking out both sides of the train to see what was coming next. I’m so proud of him! He ended up enjoying the whole trip. Of course, the best part was getting to see Dad in the middle of the day!!
After rolling over and over and over… Jack realized he had rolled off his play mat today. All the toys were way out of reach! So he spun around, using his head as the center of a pinwheel, rolled over, and started flailing his arms and legs – only to be balancing on his tummy. Ok, that wasn’t working. So he started digging his feet into the ground, and inched forward a little bit. Then he started rolling a bit more. Somehow he’s managed to roll all around the play mat, but not actually on top of it.
N has been successful in teaching Jackson how to make noises while blowing bubbles. N would keep going “bbbbbbb” with his lips, and Jack would imitate him! Then, when N would leave the room for awhile and come back in, Jackson would remember and start doing it again!! It’s the cutest thing, and we’re amazed at Jack’s memory. We’re probably just suffering from “new child syndrome” where everything Jackson does is completely amazing and the coolest we’ve ever seen. :) Anyway, we’re so excited with this new development, and are very proud of our son spitting out bubbles and making his lips purse together to make a “bbbbbbb” sound. :)
