Kisses for Sebastian!! (the name Jack and Mom would LOVE for a little brother to have some day, but alas... Dad won't hear of it. So, we must name our stuffed animals all the cool names that can never be used on real people in this family.)

One naïve mommy
In the name of getting Jackson used to feeding himself, I decided to give him some beans, cheese and fruit for lunch today. I plopped some refried beans on his highchair tray, and figured he would go at it one hand full at a time. He’d probably even use his fingers to scoop up the beans if he were feeling extra grown up today. And so it began… sure enough, Jack scooped up some beans. I turned around to do some things in the kitchen, and before I knew it he had smeared the beans all over his face, body, tray, floor, in cracks of the highchair, and who knows where else I’ll find that hardened, crusty bean paste. I couldn’t help but laugh, and was so glad that I had enough sense to take off his clothes before letting him at it. Ok, so I need to leave feeding himself to actual finger foods. :)
