So much for this building! I'm impressed Nathan was able to keep him away long enough to get it built. When I asked him about it, he said he used one arm to keep the charging bull away and one arm to build. As soon as N was done, he let Jack at it.
I just have to share this story, and praise God for working in young lives. Today Jackson ate a couple bites of his eggs, but decided he had had enough. "Coh-coh" he said asking for a cookie. "No, you must finish your dinner." After awhile, Jack began playing with with the eggs. Squishing them, and shaking them about. I gave him a bit of strawberry, and he really liked that! Then I laid the strawberries on the counter, and said "If you eat a bite of egg, you can have a bite of strawberry." He thought about it for a minute, and finally decided to eat the egg. After three fist fulls of egg, I didn't think he was going to stop! Apparently he thought he had to finish the whole egg. Anyway, he's never done that before. Usually he waits for the one bite of goodness in between ONE bite of badness. I was so proud of him, and just had to tell about it!
This is a test to see if the pictures I just posted will show after this post. Has anyone else had this problem? I just posted pics, and they show under "Edit Posts", but they don't show up on the blog (or "View Blog").
We’re working on pictures, but here’s an update in the mean time: Jackson continues to grow by leaps and bounds every day. Just a moment ago he was helping me put the chairs back at the table by pulling with one hand. He also likes carrying his share of the socks when we’re putting away laundry. I love his little spirit, and it’s really neat to see his helpful side develop. We’ve been having an awesome time at the pool this summer, are taking lots of walks, and playing at the playground. Jackson doesn’t quite blow kisses, but once he plants them on his hand, he throws them! Has the same effect I guess. :) He loves to dance! I’ve never seen a little person move so many parts of his body the way he does! The shoulders are constantly moving and grooving up, down, backwards, forwards, in a wave, bouncing, etc. That, with the head and stomach, is a riot to watch. I wish we could get it on video, but he stops when we start recording! He’s precious when he wants to show you some love. Either he’ll kiss your leg (arm, shoulder, or whatever happens to be closest to him), or he’ll lay his head on you and say “awwwww” with a little pat from his hand. The other exciting thing is that he’s talking quite a bit! There are even some sentences in there. He’s beginning to mimic us, and it will be a lot of fun when he starts doing it all the time. Grammie keeps our little man stocked with tons of toys. Every weekend Jackson gets a whole load full of new toys! We’re so grateful for this, and we’re even more grateful that we can keep most of them at Grammie’s! We have the philosophy that Jack shouldn’t have too many toys at one time, and so it’s been awesome getting to switch out his toys with the ones at Grammie’s. Things seem new all the time, yet he’s not overwhelmed with tons of toys all at once. That’s about it for now. Have a great 4th!
