I've been waiting for the day when Jackson would get the fact that there is sometimes an order in which things need to be done. However, it often feels like I'm constantly telling him "Yes, we can do that, but we must do this first." I'm sure this had to be discouraging for him, so this morning we did something different. I weeded through my morning and figured out what was important to get done first, and what could wait. Then I took three sheets of paper, drew a picture of what needed to be done first, then labled them to help out with learning our letters (must make things educational when possible! lol.. my younger self would totally be rolling my eyes at this!!), and put them on the fridge. Jack and I went over what each meant, and I explained this was the order in which things needed to be accomplished. He was allowed to take off a circle each time something was done - but he also knew what to expect!
Since the kids had been fed, I needed to eat something... badly! So that was the first thing. ;)

Then, it was time for some reading. It was really hard to leave the dishes stacked high, but the little man needed some time together. Especially before the next thing...

Now Jack gets to watch a movie, and I'm free to do dishes and laundry! Of course, I'm blogging instead, but this is the way it goes I guess. :-/
